Pune: Officials of the Pimpri police solved 28 cases of theft, burglary and other crimes after the arrest of three persons, including a minor boy.
According to Senior Police Inspector Vivek Muglikar of Pimpri police, the accused minor was nabbed after informers gave a tip- off about the location of the boy near River Road in Pimpri on August 15. A total of 12 stolen vehicles were recovered from the boy.
In another incident, Assistant Police Inspectors Ramdas Munde and Raju Thubbal and Police Sub Inspector Vitthal Bade had received a tip-off about accused Talib Baig (45) being involved in cheating and stealing valuables from vehicles. Baig is involved in three cases of cheating and theft.
In the third incident, 22-year-old Dnyaneshwar Merukar, who is involved in burglary, theft and other cases under the jurisdictions of Wakad, Sangvi, Nigdi, Bhosari, Dehu Road, Pimpri and Lonavla police stations, was nabbed by the Pimpri police and 16 cases were solved.
Police Inspector Masaji Kale said Merukar was nabbed on August 6 and during interrogation, he revealed having committed several crimes. The police said stolen material worth Rs 17 lakh was recovered from the arrested accused.
