The Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) has submitted a detailed project report for the project to the State government a few months ago.

Suresh Salunkhe Garden Superintendent of PCMC said, “The work of a garden is already underway near Jai Ganesh Vision in Akurdi under AMRUT scheme. With this approval by the State government, two more parks will be developed soon.”

Landscaping work of Rs 1.2 crore has been planned in these two gardens, besides this civil work of worth Rs 30 lakh will be undertaken.

Earlier, the PCMC was to invest in the development of gardens and landscaping in the city. But the Central government has started providing funds for these developments under the AMRUT scheme. Hence, the work of garden development will be speeded up.
