Pune: On the occasion of its 25th anniversary, PES Modern High School (English Medium), Shivajinagar, organised an Inter-School Quiz Competition ‘Jubilation’ 2017-18. It was held on July 28 at PE Society’s Auditorium. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from 34 schools.
The format of the quiz entailed five rounds. Four schools qualified for the next round. The non-finalists got an opportunity in the audience round. The final round, the rapid fire, gave the teams a chance to catch up with the leaders and put up a tough fight. Bhartiya Vidya Bhavan Paranjpe Vidya Mandir School won the winner’s trophy and a cash prize of Rs 2,500.
PES Modern High school (English Medium) was the first runner-up with a trophy and a cash prize of Rs 1,500 and Vikhe Patil memorial school stood second runner-up and bagged a trophy and cash prize of Rs 1,000.
The programme began with a general welcome of all the participants and the introduction of quiz master Sarang Sahastrabudhe. Arvind A Natu, scientist from IISER, was the Chief Guest on the occasion. Chairman of PE Society Dr GR Ekbote, Chairperson of the school Prof Jyotsna Ekbote, Secretary, PE Society, Prof SS Deshmukh, Dy Sec Dr Nivedita Ekbote, Dy Sec of PE Society Prof Dr PG Dixit and Principal Madhuree Shah helped in making the event a success.
