Pune: Additional District Collector Ramesh Kale on Thursday said the district was peaceful on Thursday and no untoward incidents were reported in the district.

About the protests at Koregaon-Bhima on January 1, Resident Deputy Collector (RDC) Rajendra Muthe said that in all 24 people were injured in the incident and one person was killed. “Two persons who suffered grievous injuries are safe now and other injured persons have been sent to their homes,” added Muthe.

The RDC said that tehsildars of Shirur and Haveli taluka have started making the panchnama of losses caused in the riots from January 1 to 3.

“We have asked the tehsildars to work in coordination with the police. The overall damage information will be collected in a few days,” added Muthe.

The duo was addressing a press conference at the collector’s office on Thursday evening.

Airport plans are still lying pending with MOD, says Kale
Speaking about the planned international airport in Purandar, Additional District Collector Ramesh Kale said that the files of the plan are lying with the Ministry of Defence (MOD).
“The Airport Authority of India has submitted all details to Ministry of Defence  for approval,” Kale  further added.

On the progress of expansion work of Lohegaon Airport, Kale said the process of allocating 15 acres of land for expansion of the airport is in progress.
