PCNTDA to construct 6,000 new houses

Rs 325 cr allotted for 3 housing projects

Pimpri: The Pimpri Chinchwad New Town Development Authority (PCNTDA- Pradhikaran) has allotted Rs 325 crore for three housing projects in its budget for 2019-2020. Altogether, 6,142 houses will be constructed under these three housing projects.

PCNTDA’s Chief Executive Officer Satishkumar Khadke presented a budget of Rs 679 crore for the new financial year to Chairman Sadashiv Khade at a meeting here on Tuesday.
 
PCNTDA has planned to construct altogether 14,656 houses. Of these planned projects, three housing projects will be completed during the next two years. These housing projects are at Walhekarwadi (Sectors number 30 and 32), at Sector numbers 6 and 12.

The main development schemes in the budget are construction of Sai Chowk flyover, an international open exhibition centre, Sanvidhan Bhavan and a Vipassana centre in Sector number 11, a memorial of industrialist JRD Tata and an industrial museum, establishment of a solar park at Sector Nos. 5 and 8, and a facility centre, night shelter and a hostel for working women.

Shinde said, “We are going to display the utensils, jewellery, life and death events of the people from Satvahana era. During the excavation, we had found the remains of houses, utensils and various other items that too will be displayed.”

Shrikant Ganvir from Deccan College, who is also working on the project, said, “Along with various rare items from the Satvahana period, we are also going to depict pre-historic till medieval period interpretations.”
