PCMC Standing Committee head sanctions Rs 565 cr for development work

Pimpri: The last meeting of the Standing Committee was held under the outgoing Chairperson Seema Savale on Wednesday. In this meeting development works of Rs 565 crore was approved. Meanwhile, the Standing Committee has given approval for development works of nearly Rs 3,000 crore during last one year which is a record development project clearance. 

The members include outgoing Standing Committee Chairperson Seema Savale, along with six BJP members and two NCP members. The projects which were sanctioned include 'Waste to Energy' project, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, and road development works. 

The Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) is planning to implement the 'Waste to Energy' project at Moshi Garbage depot and for this, Rs 208.36 crore will be spent. The Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) will be implemented by PCMC in 10 locations. 

Under this scheme, 1,442 tenements will be constructed at Charholi. The work of the project has been given to Man Infra Construction at a cost of Rs 132.50 crore. Also, 934 tenements will be built at Ravet and this work has been awarded to the same contractor at the cost of Rs 88.25 crore. The Ramkrishna More Auditorium will be renovated at the cost of Rs 18.41 crore.

The work of the project has been given to SJ Wildcon Pvt limited. 

The 18-metre wide road from Dapodi bridge to Tulja Bhavani temple to Srishti Chowk will be renovated at Rs 18.26 crore.

Three Fire Canon Tower Vehicle will be purchased for the fire department at Rs 8.84 crore. 

A subway will be constructed at Govind Garden Chowk on Nashik Phata to Wakad BRTS road and at Rs 9.29 crore.

Required works will be done for postgraduate degree courses at PCMC-run YCM Hospital. The works including renovation of neonatal department, renovation of quarters for resident doctors will take place for Rs 5.24 crore. 

A welfare centre will be developed in Pimpri which will cost Rs. 7.05 crore. Electrical works will be done for murals in the area of ​​Babasaheb Ambedkar statue at Dr Ambedkar Chowk in Pimpri and it will cost Rs 2 crore.
