SB Channal from Health Department of PCMC and representative of ward G said, “People are not really willing to give their stocked plastic to us. So we had to go from shop to shop to collect plastic from them.”

Vikas Patil, member of NGO Environment Conservation Association, said, “PCMC has done their part of officially collecting stocked plastic from the people. Now we will conduct such drives regularly so that those who couldn’t deposit their stocked plastic can give it to us.”

Prashant Karne, Health Inspector of PCMC, said, “The ward officers have taken efforts of collecting stocked plastic from the traders. Henceforth, if plastic is found with any trader, they would have to pay a heavy fine. The collected plastic will be taken to the garbage yard at Moshi and fuel would be made out of it.”
