Pimpri: Newly appointed Leader of Opposition in Pimpri-Chinchwad Datta Sane has levelled serious allegations against Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) Commissioner Shravan Hardikar as he said that Hardikar was specially brought to help BJP leaders in PCMC siphon off funds.

Sane alleged that in the last one year, since the BJP came to power in Pimpri-Chinchwad, large scale corruption has taken place in PCMC and he will expose it in the coming days. Sane was speaking at a press conference on Friday.

“After the BJP came to power in PCMC in February 2017, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis brought Shravan Hardikar, who was commissioner of Nagpur Municipal Corporation, as commissioner of PCMC. Since then, Hardikar is said to have developed close relations with the BJP,” Sane said.

“Hardikar is behaving like BJP’s spokesperson and he is influenced by the corrupt practices of the ruling party. He is involved in corruption and is giving lessons to BJP leaders about it,” Sane lashed out. He said they will not tolerate someone threatening officers and his party will stand behind the authorities for good work.
