PCB to move HC against MoF for its share of GST
Repeated correspondence with MoF has not yielded results
Pune: After failing to obtain LBT and GST share from the Ministry of Finance (MoF), the Pune Cantonment Board (PCB) will now move the High Court against the Ministry of Finance (MoF) for not releasing its share of Goods and Service Tax (GST).
PCB officials claimed that even after repeated communication with MoF through memorandums for allocation of GST to PCB, the board has not yet received any positive response. The issue was discussed during PCB’s general body meeting held on Saturday.
DN Yadav, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and the new President, Prithi Singh of the PCB announced their decision to send a legal notice to MoF regarding the same. “If MoF does not respond to PCB till August 31, then, we will file a petition in High Court against the ministry. We were supposed to get a share of LBT which was Rs 100 crore but we have so far not received it. In addition to this, we have also not received the GST share which is Rs 1,000 crore per annum.”
“The MoF has still not decided on whether the share will be given by State or Central government. However, the share is currently going into State government’s account,” Yadav said.
