Passes available at new PMPML centre

PUNE: After receiving complaints from handicapped pass holders about lack of proper arrangement for distributions of passes, the Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Ltd (PMPML) has changed the distribution centre from Swargate to Central Control centre. Till now, 2,050 passes have been distributed.

According to PMPML officials, these passes are granted by Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) and Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC).

“The pass centre was started at Swargate a month ago. Some handicapped persons raised complaints, so we changed the location,” said Subhash Gaikawad, Public Relations Officer of PMPML.

“The Swargate pass centre doesn’t have proper facilities. During rain, we had to wait fo it to stop. There was no sitting arrangement for us,” a handicapped person said on condition of anonymity.

“The PMPML is providing ‘ME’ card for all pass holders. Till now around 2,050 ‘ME’ cards have been distributed to the pass holders,” said Gaikwad.
