Parents duped of over Rs 22L in admission racket

He took Rs 21.14 lakh from the complainant over three month for the admissions. Simultaneously he duped another family of Rs 1.5 lakh on for providing admission to their daughter.

Pune: In a case of admission fraud, a trickster duped parents of three students of Rs 22.64 lakh on pretext of providing them admission in a Karnataka-based medical college. A complaint in this regard was registered at Vimantal police station.

The trickster operated through a fake identity and came in contact with the victims through e-mail in May. According to police, the trickster promised a parent that he will avail MBBS admission  for son and daughter in  Bengaluru-based college.

He took Rs 21.14 lakh from the complainant over three month for the admissions. Simultaneously he duped another family of Rs 1.5 lakh on for providing admission to their daughter.

The matter was reported to the police on Friday after which a case of cheating was registered.
