Ola company cheated to the tune of Rs 25 lakh

Pune: A case of cheating was lodged at Yerawada police station on Monday by officials of the Ola company against five persons for allegedly cheating the company to the tune of Rs 25 lakh between May 2017 to January 2018. 

According to the Yerawada police, the accused have been identified as sourcing executive Amol Pilani, Renuka Kulkarni, Ramdas Chitalkar, Kushank Updhayay and Brijesh Waghavale. As per the complaint filed by Nitin Gagre who works as Assitant Manager at Ola, the company had outsourced some financial work to the company named Feno. 

"As per the company policy, Rs 4,000 is taken from drivers wanting to register with Ola. Similarly, for different cars to be provided to these drivers, a deposit amount is taken from the drivers which range from Rs 21,000 to Rs 31,000. The accused were supposed to deposit the money taken from the drivers with Ola company which they did not do so. Following which, a case was lodged against the five persons," a police official from Yerawada police said. 

Assistant Police Inspector G More is investigating the case and the accused are yet to be arrested. The police said that as per the complaint, the fraud amount is above Rs 25 lakh.
