Now, new policy for placing signboards

Pune: City Mayor Mukta Tilak has taken a decision to frame a policy about placing signboards at different places on Friday. It has been observed that for one place, four different corporators place different signboards.

Also, Tilak took a review meeting of the budgetary work with different corporation department heads. The Leader of House Shrinath Bhimale was also present at the meeting. After that, Tilak said, “Placing more than one signboard in one area or society is a wastage of public money. Hence, corporators are misusing taxpayers money by placing signboards every year in different societies, internal roads, etc. A policy on the signboards will help to stop such misuse of money.”

Corporation puts name boards on roads, hospitals, gardens, historical places, schools, community halls, etc. However, corporators are placing same signboards or name boards in same place with different party colours.

Meanwhile, Tilak also gave instructions to the administration to remove unnecessary employees in newly 11 merged villages in the corporation. After the State government took a decision to merge villages in the corporation, some of the villages recruited employees unnecessarily.
