Nirdhar Parivartan Yatra of NCP enters Pune city

PUNE: NCP Nirdhar Parivartan Yatra entered Pune on Saturday. The party started yatra on January 10 from Raigad and it is going to cover all 48 constituencies in the State.

It has started the yatra to seek parivartan (change) in the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections and Assembly polls in the state. Top leaders of NCP party have assembled in the city to contact the masses and enthuse party workers.

The party has decided to communicate with people and party workers against the background of forthcoming Lok Sabha and Assembly polls in the state. The party has engaged all top party leaders for Parivartan Yatra. Earlier, the party conducted a statewide Halla Bol campaign. After that, it had organised Savidhan Yatra and now, it has started Parivartan Yatra. NCP has taken the lead compared to Congress in terms of election campaign in the state.

Party leaders conducted a rally in eastern part of the city. In Hadapsar assembly constituency, party leader Ajit Pawar, party’s State unit chief Jayant Patil, General Secretary Sunil Tatkare, Supriya Sule, Dhananjay Munde, Chhagan Bhujbal and Dilip Walse addressed rally and criticised BJP on Saturday.

Pawar said, “We have started Nirdhar Parivartan Yatra to bring about change in the country. People are fed up with BJP. We faced a lot of trouble in Pune city and rural parts of the district. The BJP presented full budget instead of interim budget of 2019-20 ahead of Lok Sabha election. It is political and moral corruption of BJP. Now, the budget has been challenged in the Supreme Court.”

He said, “We are creating awareness and appealing to people to check facts and take appropriate decisions. The government made many false promises in last four years. The government continues to make false promises and they have made them in the budget also.”

On Sunday, the party has organised a rally on Sinhagad Road and Pimpri-Chinchwad.
