Nigerian held with cocaine worth Rs 7.02L

A Nigerian national has been arrested by the Anti-Narcotics Cell (ANC) of the Pune city police for smuggling drugs and police claimed to have seized cocaine worth Rs 7.02 lakh from his possession.

Pune: A Nigerian national has been arrested by the Anti-Narcotics Cell (ANC) of the Pune city police for smuggling drugs and police claimed to have seized cocaine worth Rs 7.02 lakh from his possession.

The arrested accused has been identified as Anthony Maxwell, alias Uguchuku Emanuel, a resident of Salisbury Park. According to the police, he was arrested at around 9 pm on Saturday while selling the narcotic substance. Police recovered 58.510 gram cocaine worth Rs 7.02 lakh, digital weighing machine, mobile phone and Rs 29,000 in cash.

An FIR has been registered against him with Swargate police station for offences under Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
