NCP’s new district prez Garatkar takes charge

Pune: The Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), recently elected Pradeep Garatkar, who is an open proponent of Hindutva, as their new district president. 

Garatkar held his first executive meeting on Wednesday, where various new programmes were announced by the party which will include programmes like distribution of bicycles to schoolgirls, distribution of cloth bags etc.

Garatkar addressed the media at a press conference on Thursday and said, that even though he believes in Hindutva, he is committed to the party. “I may be known as a follower of Hindutva because of my activities through Patit Pavan Sanghatana. 

But I am also a pragmatist and want to create change and development through for the people,” he said, adding, “The party has given me a responsibility and I will fulfill it.”

The Pune District NCP will distribute 3,500 bicycles to school going, girls. “Even though the Zilla Parishad provides bicycles to them already, many girls are yet to receive such cycles. 

We will reach out to them and distribute 3,500 bicycles in Baramati Lok Sabha constituency in the first phase and then to other areas,” he said, adding, “We will also distribute cloth bags and organise various reach out programmes to take the party to every household.”
