Pimpri: Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut said that people of Maharashtra are angry with the government and this anger has reflected in the elections in Nanded. Raut claimed that Nanded elections are the beginning of the downfall of the Bharatiya Janata Party in the country.
Raut was speaking to media representatives after attending a meeting with Shiv Sena office bearers in Pimpri Chinchwad on Saturday. He said that his party is ready for the mid-term polls. He said that his party is preparing for mid-term polls independently. "We are confident that our numbers in the Assembly will be the same as before after the mid-term polls. We challenge the government to dissolve the Assembly and face elections, instead of spreading rumours of mid-term polls repeatedly.
Shiv Sena MP Shivajirao Adhalrao Patil, Shrirang Barne, MLA Gautam Chabukswar, city unit chief Rahul Kalate, women wing organising secretary Sulabha Ubale and others were present for the meeting.
Raut said that it is being observed that BJP government in the Centre and State is not doing anything for the betterment of the lives of the people of the country. He added that in an attempt to shift the focus from its failure, the government is deliberately spreading the rumour of mid-term elections. He claimed that Shiv Sena is ready for the mid-term elections and that they are confident that their numbers will remain the same even after contesting elections independently.
Raut said, "Shiv Sena has differences with BJP government and we are not going to compromise on these issues at any cost. The government has completely failed to address the farmers' distress issue. The government has announced the loan waiver but farmers have not yet got the loan waiver. The entire announcement has been caught in red tape."
Raut added that farmers in the State are facing unprecedented distress, the government has failed to control inflation. There is complete law and order failure in the country. Trade has been affected badly after demonetisation and GST.
While questioning the decision of not declaring dates for Gujarat elections, Raut said, "Election Commission has announced dates for elections in Himachal Pradesh but not announced dates of Gujarat elections. The people of India want to know why the government is scared to announce dates of Gujarat elections.
