Pune: The Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC) has started clearing boulders near the tunnel area. The officials have deputed 10 guards on each block for managing the traffic with the help of highway traffic police.
According to the highway police, “The work started in the afternoon, when there was less traffic movement. We deputed 10 policemen on each block section. The situation was normal and we expect it will remain so till the work is completed.”
The MSRDC started work on Tuesday morning and it will go on continuously till March 14.
The work is going on under supervision of MSRDC Engineering Department. The boulders clearance work will go on at Bhatan tunnel, Odishi tunnel, Khandala tunnel and Amrutanjan tunnel from morning 10 am to 3.15 pm.
During this period the vehicles' movement will be halted every 15 minutes from both sides.
On Tuesday, work started with the Bhatan tunnel at 10 am.
Traffic was stopped one km before the tunnel. The work is also going on Odishi Tunnel, Khandala Tunnel and Amrutanjan Tunnel.
