MSEDCL lodges complaint about cable damage

Pune: The Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Ltd (MSEDCL) has lodged a complaint at Bhosari police station against unidentified persons for damaging an underground cable.

According to officials of MSEDCL, the underground 11-KV electricity cable of Mahavitaran was broken at 10.15 pm on Thursday in Ganeshnagar, Dapodi.

According to officials of MSEDCL, the underground 11-KV electricity cable of Mahavitaran was broken at 10.15 pm on Thursday in Ganeshnagar, Dapodi.

Therefore, the electricity supply of 36 transformers was disrupted and 45,000 consumers were affected. Assistant Engineer Mangesh Sonawane and other staff immediately started work on an alternative power supply for 28 transformers. The rest eight transformers could not be started, affecting around 1,200 consumers.  Hence, the repair of damaged electricity started immediately. The power supply was restored at 12.15 pm. “Due to the damage to the underground electricity cable during unauthorised digging work in Ganeshnagar, the power supply of 1,200 customers of Dapodi and Ganeshnagar was disrupted for two hours. MSEDCL has lost revenue worth Rs 60,000,” said official of MSEDCL.
