MSEDCL extends Nav Prakash Yojana to Aug

Pune: The Nav Prakash Yojana of Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) for consumers whose power connections have been permanently disconnected has been extended to August 31.

Under the Nav Prakash Yojana consumers who are willing to pay pending bill amounts are given discount on security deposit, service connection charges among others.

The officials said that with this consumers who have failed to pay their bills and whose connections have been disconnected can pay arrears and apply for a new connection.

The officials from MSEDCL said, “As part of this scheme the consumers who pay the pending principal amount between June to August will get 75 per cent discount on the interest and 100 per cent on the late charges.”

The officials added that the consumers paying the principal amount will not have to pay any security deposit, service connections charges or reconnection charges.

“Under this scheme, consumers need not give any affidavit and forms for new power connections will be made available for free to the consumers,” said the officials.

The Nav Prakash Yojana was started by MSEDCL on November 1, 2016 and was valid for a period of six months.

For convenience of consumers who have failed to pay their bills the scheme has been extended to August 31.
