MSEDCL disconnects supply of 60,241 consumers

Pune: The Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Co Ltd (MSEDCL) has disconnected electricity supply of 60,241 consumers due to non-payment of dues. Those who got their connection disconnected includes households, commercial as well as industrial consumers from Pune, Pimpri-Chinchwad and rural areas within Pune division. The power utility took this action under its special campaign 'Zero-Dues' in the last fortnight, which will continue on weekends and public holidays. The due amount was Rs 29.45 crore.

According to an MSEDCL official, “The MSEDCL has alerted all consumers to pay dues or face action. The action was taken against 45,693 households, commercial and industrial establishments in Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad area and they have around Rs 18.90 crore dues. Similarly, in the rural area - Mulshi, Junnar, Ambegaon, Maval and Khed - 14,438 consumers have not paid dues of Rs 10.56 crore. The MSEDCl has disconnected electric supply of all defaulters.”

Under the campaign, these defaulters can clear their dues as soon as possible. MSEDCL has appealed to consumers to pay bills on website www.mahadiscom.in or use its mobile app.
