Pune: In order to promote an inclusive Skill Development programme in the state, the government has recently affiliated Vocational Training Institute (VTI) with Skill Assessment Agency (SAA) through the Maharashtra State Council of Vocational Training (MSCVT).

According to a GR issued recently, although there are several private training centres offering skill-based courses, it was observed that the courses lacked several factors.

Many courses do not coordinate with the Qualification Packs (QPs), National Occupational Standards (NOS), basic training facilities, examination and marking pattern, etc. Many times, the syllabus does not compliment the industrial requirements.

Hence, in order to bring about an all-inclusive programme for skill-development, the new affiliation has been approved by the government. The council aims to approve a new skill-based syllabus in order to provide the industry with a new skilled workforce, as per its requirement.
