Pimpri: A major fire broke out at Moshi garbage depot around 8 pm on Thursday. Four fire tenders were rushed to the spot to douse the fire. But even after 22 hours, the fire could not be brought under control.
Although, the cause for the fire is yet to be confirmed, an official said that it could be the result of heat that is generated in garbage dump due to fermentation of garbage coupled with the high temperature during the day. Residents living around the garbage dump, especially Dudulgaon, Charholi and part of Alandi Road, were engulfed with smoke.
