MoS Defence Bhamre visits city

Pune: On the occasion of ‘Swachhata Pakhwada’, Minister of State Defence Dr Subhash Bhamre visited the Pune Cantonment Board (PCB) on September 16. He also paid a visit to NDA. The minister took part in the Swachhata Drive in the lane in front of Sitaladevi Temple, Sachapir Street. 

L K Pegu, Principai Director, Defence Estates; Major General Prithi Singh, President of PCB; Vibha Sharma, Director, Defence Estate (DE); Sanjeev Kumar, Director Defence Estate (DE); Priyanka Shrigiri, Vice President and DN Yadav, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Pune Cantonment Board (PCB) also participated in the drive.

Afterwards, he addressed the residents of the Cantonment at the site of 20 MLD Sewage Treatment Plant of the board at 900 Boottee Street. He appreciated the work being done by the conservancy workers. 

The minister further said, “It is the duty of each and every individual of the country to keep our homes, surroundings, societies, villages and cities clean. When we travel abroad, we see that the countries are very clean compared to our country. This is because every citizen feels that it is everyone’s duty to keep the area clean.”

The Pune Cantonment Board (PCB) had bagged the Raksha Mantri Award for excellence in the field of ‘Swachh Chhawani Swastha Chhawani’ in 2017.
