Pune: The Mont Vert Dieu Society at Pashan has been operating a sewage treatment plant (STP) which provides treated water that can be used for gardening and other purposes. The society is also a part of the Sakal Times Neighbourhood Connect initiative.

The STP contains a wet waste compost plant that converts wet waste into manure. Due to this, the society helps in sharing the burden of proper disposal of waste. The society compulsorily follows the rule of segregating wet and dry waste. It also helps to keep the environment clean.

There are different teams which head the culture and health section each year. One team takes care of all yearly festivals like Ganesh festival, Navratra, New Year, January 26, August 15 and Holi while another organises activity during summer vacation i.e. summer carnival in the society. Under health, there is a team of senior citizens which manages a morning yoga club and another young group which takes up sports activities. The interesting part is that the young group plans things for senior citizens and in return, the senior citizens plan activities for the young group.

The society also maintains a solar water heater and has water harvesting facility which is environment-friendly.
