Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) Chief Raj Thackeray asked where was Prime Minister Narendra Modi when in Gujarat Dalits were assaulted over the allegation of smuggling beef.

Pune: Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) Chief Raj Thackeray asked where was Prime Minister Narendra Modi when in Gujarat Dalits were assaulted over the allegation of smuggling beef. He then screened a clip of PM Modi at Akluj (Solapur) rally in which Modi stated that Congress criticised him as he is from a lower caste.  Thackeray was addressing a public rally in Sinhagad Road area on Thursday. This is Thackeray’s first rally during the Lok Sabha election campaign in Pune.

Thackeray said, “We are asking questions which common people want to ask PM Modi. PM Modi changed after he got power. He politicised  rape, beef issue when he was in opposition. But, after BJP formed the government, he forgot all these issues. The BJP government created a worse situation than any other government in the country. People want water, employment and Modi spent crores of rupees on installation of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel statue in Gujarat.”

He said, “Our cities are becoming dirty despite development. After five years, we came to know that our trust was breached. This is the situation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Modi gave tall promises, but they forgot all these things. Now, PM Modi is highlighting his caste.”

Thackeray referred to PM Modi’s speech about the bullet train.

He said, “Modi wants to shift business capital from Mumbai to Gujarat and not to Pune. Therefore, Modi wants Mumbai to Gujarat bullet train.”

“Modi should speak on Make In India, Startup India. The government is collecting tax on the name of Swachh Abhiyan. The BJP should also tell people where they got money for elections. People lost their lives during demonetisation,” he said.
