MLA Medha Kulkarni writes to principal secy

Pune: With the proposed Chandni Chowk flyover work yet to take off due to land acquisition problems, Kothrud MLA Medha Kulkarni has written to the principal secretary of the state legislature to form norms for rehabilitation of people falling in Bio-Diversity Plan (BDP) zone, whose lands will be acquired for building the flyover. 

Pune: With the proposed Chandni Chowk flyover work yet to take off due to land acquisition problems, Kothrud MLA Medha Kulkarni has written to the principal secretary of the state legislature to form norms for rehabilitation of people falling in Bio-Diversity Plan (BDP) zone, whose lands will be acquired for building the flyover. 

In the letter, Kulkarni stated that of the 15 hectares of land to be acquired over 7 hectare falls in BDP zone. "It is necessary to address the issue of rehabilitation of people falling in BDP zone and whose land will be acquired for project development. There are many projects in pending state as the rules of such rehabilitation are yet to be formed," the letter stated.

The earlier group of citizens, led by Kulkarni had met Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and submitted a memorandum related to the demands of the Project Affected People (PAP).The pending work of flyover gained attention after two persons were killed on the slope of Chandni Chowk in July this year.
