Minor boy rescued by Pune police

As per information given by ACP Sameer Shaikh, the boy was kidnapped from Mehboobnagar area in Telangana.

Pune: A joint effort by officials of Anti-Extortion Cell (AEC) and Anti-Dacoity Cell (ADC) of the city police crime branch helped rescue a 14-year-old boy, who was allegedly kidnapped from Telangana on Sunday morning. Police have also arrested a 23-year-old, Krushna Rathod, involved in the crime. 

As per information given by Assistant Commissioner of Police Sameer Shaikh, the boy was kidnapped from Mehboobnagar area in Telangana. A case of kidnapping was then lodged at Kotakata Circle Vanparthi police station. Officials of the Telangana police then asked help from Pune police and shared details of the accused, who was travelling on a train bound to Mumbai. 

"Police Inspector Raghunath Jadhav and Rajendra Kadam formed teams to check for the accused in Solapur-Mumbai train in wee hours of Monday. The accused and the abducted boy was then traced by police teams and the boy was rescued by police. The accused and the boy has been handed over to Telangana police," added Shaikh.
