Pimpri: With the objective of all round development of students, Department of School Education and Literacy, Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) has invited suggestions for ‘rationalising’ school syllabus.
Suggestions have been invited from teachers, academics, students, parents and other stakeholders. The decision has been made to balance the school curriculum for the students from Class I to XII as prescribed by NCERT/CBSE.
The notification has come in right after Union Minister of HRD Prakash Javadekar announced that the NCERT syllabus has to be cut by 50 per cent from the 2019 session.
The suggestions are to be submitted latest by April 6. The notification has asked for the suggestions to be precise and has assured that the personal details of those suggesting will remain confidential.
The suggestions can be made at the link <http://18.104.22.168/DIGI>.
“It has been envisioned that in order to develop a fairer and more egalitarian society comprising well-balanced human beings, in addition to cognitive and analytical skills, adequate attention on activities like life skills, experiential learning, health and physical education, sports, visual and performing arts, literary and creative skills, and work-based education are indispensable,” reads the notification.
The curriculum documents of all subjects according to CBSE as well as NCERT are available on the MHRD website and teachers and others who are interested in giving suggestions need to refer these before giving their opinions.
