Pune: Ness Wadia College of Commerce celebrated its 49th Foundation Day on July 16. On this august occasion, Bhalchandra Mungekar, Former Vice Chancellor of Mumbai University and a Rajya Sabha Member, economist, teacher, educationist and a social worker was conferred the Scholar of the Year Award by WN Gade, Former Vice Chancellor, SPPU, Pune.
Bhalchandra Mungekar delivered the Foundation Day Lecture on the topic “Challenges of Inequality”. “Economic inequality is the root cause of other inequalities existing in Indian society. Therefore we have to strive hard to minimise this economic inequality.” He emphasised that meaningful spending on education is the need of the day. Principal Professor Girija Shankar, Vice Principal Prakash Chaudhary and Jaysing Ranpise, Principals of various colleges and a large number of students, alumni and staffers attended the function.
