Metro work on Karve Road not to affect pedestrians: MahaMetro

PUNE: Officials of MahaMetro have assured that pedestrians will not face any hassles on Karve Road as they are in talks with PMC and Traffic Department to make Karve Road pedestrian friendly.

Officials said for the work of metro on Karve Road, they have to occupy some part of the road which leads to narrowing of roads, leaving less space for other vehicles and pedestrians. Officials said that they have requested PMC to remove encroachments on the footpath on both sides of Karve Road and similarly, the Traffic Department is going to suggest traffic improvement.

Atul Gadgil, Head of Vanaz to Ramwadi Metro corridor of MahaMetro said, “There are damaged footpaths and missing footpaths in the area. So we have decided to solve this issue. Similarly, we will also look for parking space in the area to avoid traffic chaos.”

On the progress of Vanaaz to civil court corridor, Gadgil said that the project is on track and the design of Sambhaji Park station will be in the shape of Puneri Pagdi.
