Pimpri: As the twin-township of Pimpri-Chinchwad is known for the industries it houses, the six metro rail stations proposed in the twin city areas will be developed on an industrial theme.
Maha-Metro is building all metro stations in the Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad based on the speciality of that particular area.
All six stations, namely PCMC headquarters, Sant Tukaram Nagar, Nashik Phata, Bhosari, Fugewadi Octroi Post and Dapodi will be elevated. There are three more stations till Range Hills on this Metro line.
In Pimpri-Chinchwad, the stations will be based on the manufacturing of different industrial products including automobile, medicine, heavy industries and information technology.
The actual work of construction of metro stations is likely to start from July onwards. The work of Pimpri to Range Hills stretch of Pune metro is expected to be completed in the next two years.
