Metro officials discuss seamless integration plan with Central Rly

Metro will also provide a common mobility card which will help people to change their modes of travel by using a single ticket

Pune: Officials of MahaMetro and Central Railway (CR) held a meeting on Tuesday to discuss the former’s plan related to the seamless integration of Pune Metro with the Central Railway which will benefit people and garner high ridership for metro. 

According to officials of the MahaMetro, the Pimpri to Shivajinagar corridor of metro project will require integration with Central Railway at Kasarwadi, Khadki and Shivajinagar stations. Going ahead, the integration will be required at Pune station also. To achieve this, metro will connect the entry-exit of the metro train with the entry-exit points of Kasarwadi and Khadki railway stations. 

While Shivajinagar metro station will be underground, there will be subways connecting to Shivajinagar station of railways with the metro station. At Pune station, there will be a footover bridge connecting Pune station and metro station. 

MahaMetro official Gautam Birhade was present in the meeting along with Divisional Railway Manager, Milind Deoskar, Additional Divisional Railway Manager Praful Chandra and others. Under the seamless integration plan of MahaMetro, they will connect important bus stands and railway stations with metro so that people do not have to struggle while changing their mode of travel. 

Similarly, metro will also provide a common mobility card which will help people to change their modes of travel by using a single ticket.
