Member of housekeeping staff at city hosp assaulted

The complainant, in his statement, said that Mahabal and three others, who are employed as bouncers, attacked him after receiving the order from hospital authorities. He was forced to submit a written admission of the theft by the hospital authorities.

PUNE: A member of the housekeeping staff at Deenanath Mangeshkar Hospital was beaten up allegedly by bouncers employed by hospital authorities. 

The incident took place on Friday, after the victim was accused of a theft at the hospital.

According to the statement of the victim Sandeep Fale, he was assaulted by Nitin Mahabal and three others over allegations of theft made against him by the hospital administration staff. Fale, who works as a housekeeper, approached Alankar police station after he was attacked by the four accused.

SG Chavan, Assistant Police Inspector, Alankar police station said, “We have registered the case against Mahabal and three other unidentified accused. We are going to take strict action against them on the basis of our investigation.”

When contacted, Shirish Yadkikar, Public Relations Officer of Deenanath Mangeshkar Hospital said, “No such incident has taken place. I totally deny that anybody has been assaulted by bouncers.”

The police have booked all the four accused under section 323 (Punishment for voluntarily causing hurt) of the IPC.
