Meet to solve traffic snarls on Karve Rd

Officials of MahaMetro , Kothrud traffic division and the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) held a meeting on Thursday to solve the issue of traffic chaos on Karve Road. The road has been narrowed due to ongoing work of metro project from Vanaaz to Ramwadi.

Pune: Officials of MahaMetro, Kothrud traffic division and the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) held a meeting on Thursday to solve the issue of traffic chaos on Karve Road. The road has been narrowed due to ongoing work of metro project from Vanaaz to Ramwadi. 

To add to commuters’ woes, a  number of potholes have cropped up on the road. As per MahaMetro, a meeting was called by all stakeholders to solve these issues. MahaMetro officials said they will take care of cleaning up debris near barricades so that commuters do not have to face problems.

The PMC will fill all potholes on the road. The meeting was attended by Police Inspector Pratibha Joshi of Pune traffic Kothrud division. MahaMetro officials will try to reduce the barricading at places where barricading is more than 9 metres. Officials said the PMC will look at the encroachments on the footpaths. Executive Director MahaMetro Ramnath Subramaniam said he will look at the suggested changes positively.

Earlier, MahaMetro had announced that it is going  to repair potholes in Karve Road area. The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) had given a letter to MahaMetro to repair the road on this route. Actually, potholes caused because of rain is not the responsibility of MahaMetro, yet they are  ready to repair the potholes.
