MECHPGCON 2017 concludes

Pune: MECHPGCON 2017, the third Mechanical Engineering Post Graduate Conference on heat power engineering, automotive and energy engineering, organised by TSSM’s Padmabhushan Vasantdada Patil Institute of Technology (PVPIT), in association with Board of Studies, Mechanical Engineering of Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU), concluded recently.

Vice-chancellor of SPPU Dr Nitin Karamalkar was the chief guest. Keynote speaker Balesh Ropia, scientist, HEMRL, DRDO, JSPM’s Executive Director Dr PP Vitkar, TSSM’s Secretary and Campus Director, Bavdhan, Giriraj Sawant, PVPIT Bavdhan’s Principal Dr CM Sedani, Ex Director of Board of Studies of SPPU Dr PJ Awasare, heads of both the shifts of the Department of Mechanical Engineering, DB Shelke and Dr KB Waghulde, and MECHPGCON conference committee members were also present.

Dr Karamlkar highlighted the decreasing status of jobs and underlined the future requirement of engineers in the areas of heat power, automotive and energy engineering. He asked students to get ready to take advantage of opportunities such as ‘Make in India’. Keynote speaker Ropia shared his experience in the fields of design and development of propulsion system, Ballistic Evaluation Motors (BEMs), various types of propellants.  This was followed by paper presentations, where participants showcased their scientific skills and knowledge with the focus on newer original concepts and techniques in the field of heat power, automotive and energy engineering by imbibing global concepts for local needs.

More than 285 papers were presented on heat power, automotive and energy engineering. A CD containing information on the papers presented at the conference was published.

President TSSM and Founder Secretary of JSPM Prof TJ Sawant gave his best wishes to the conference. Principal Dr CM Sedani presented a brief introduction of the institute. Anchoring was done by Prof SK Patil and Prof AA Moghe. Prof PM Bagade delivered the vote of thanks.
