MD of a private firm booked in harassment case

The complainant alleged that the accused had been passing lewd comments at her for the last one month. and used to send obscene messages during odd hours.

Pune: The managing director of a private company from Yerawada has been booked by Pune city police for allegedly molesting a 26-year-old woman employee. 

In her FIR registered with Yerawada police station on Saturday, the woman stated that the accused Rohit Bhide, a resident of Kalyani Nagar, used to touch her inappropriately following which she quit her job. She had been working at the company for the past five months.

According to the police, August 2 was the complainant’s last day at her job. The accused called her into his cabin and touched her inappropriately. She further alleged that he had been passing lewd comments at her for the last one month. He also used to send obscene messages during odd hours, the police said citing her complaint. 

The police have booked him for the offence under Section 354a (sexual harassment) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

“Investigations are on. We are yet to arrest the accused in the case,” Senior Police Inspector Mukund Mahajan, in-charge of Yerwada police station said.
