“At these bus stops, people wait for buses on the road or near BRT tracks, which might cause mishaps and accidents,” Mukta Tilak said.

PUNE: Pune Mayor Mukta Tilak said that the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) is mulling action against contractors who have not completed designated works within the stipulated timeframe or have pending projects. She was talking to media on Tuesday.

She said that it had come to the notice of the municipal body that roads, especially like the Pune-Satara Road, have patches of cycle tracks, BRT tracks and bus stops dismantled for renovation works but these works have not been completed. “At these bus stops, people wait for buses on the road or near BRT tracks, which might cause mishaps and accidents,” she said.

Tilak also said that PMC has instructed contractors, warning them of action. “In many areas, we see that the bus stops have been reduced to skeletons. We have asked all contractors to get them in required condition before May 31 or else face action,” Tilak said. She further added, “We have asked them to prepare bar charts and work according to them.”
