Pune: While the role of volunteers associated with Hindu radical organisation Sanatan Sanstha is under the scanner in the Dr Narendra Dabholkar murder case, volunteers of Sanatan Sanstha launched an attack on Maharashtra Andhashraddha Nirmulan Samiti (MANS) for not disclosing property details of assets owned by it.
At a press conference held at Patrakar Bhavan on Friday, Abhay Vartak of the Sanatan Sanstha raised questions related to donations received by MANS. Vartak alleged that the organisation was involved in a property scam worth crores.
Vartak said that MANS had merged the entire property of progressive thinker Prof GP Pradhan, owned by Vasudha Manovikas Pratishthan, in its trust. Dr. Dabholkar had given a statement accordingly under his own signature in 2012. Vartak alleged that MANS has not disclosed this property as its assets.
When questioned about the allegations made by Sanatan Sanstha, Mukta Dabholkar said, “No scam has been committed by MANS.” She added that if the query comes from the office of the Charity Commissioner, MANS is bound to answer.
Dabholkar said, “Before cooking up stories, Sanatan Sanstha should know that the property of GP Pradhan was never merged with the MANS trust. The heir of GP Pradhan has all the right to question us about anything related to it, but who is Sanatan to ask?”
HH Sunil Chincholkar, another member of Sanatan Sanstha, said that when Dabholkar was alive, he used to say that he was ready for an inquiry into his working. Chincholkar demanded why his successors are scared to face a similar inquiry.
