Pune: Maharashtra Andhashraddha Nirmoolan Samiti (MANS) has planned a nationwide ‘Jawab Do’ protest against the slack in the investigation process of Narendra Dabholkar murder case.
While the ‘Jawab Do’ protest had started around a month ago, on July 20, there will be several protest activities across the country on August 20, the fourth death anniversary of the rationalist.
“The leaders of MANS are already in talks with all the MLAs and other political leaders in the State regarding the delay in the investigation process. On August 20, there will be a march starting from the Maharshi Vitthal Ramji Shinde Bridge where Dabholkar was murdered. Later, at a programme that will be organised at Sane Guruji Smarak, Rashtra Seva Dal, artists and activists will together discuss and question the government about the issues regarding the freedom of expression and security in our country,” Avinash Patil, State Executive President of MANS, said.
He further added, “Similar programmes like Protest March, Nirbhay Morning Walk, Human Chain, philosophical lectures, etc, will also be held in Mumbai and other parts of Maharashtra. In Delhi, there will be silent protests in several parts of the city.”
