Man run over by train at Pune railway station

Pune: A 40-year-old man was crushed to death under a train at Pune railway station, platform number two at 11.20 am on Sunday.
According to the Government Railway Police (GRP), the body is yet to identified. “We got information that a man came under the running Pune-Karjat passenger train. The investigation is on,” said an officer of the GRP.

According to witnesses, “The Pune-Karjat passenger train was coming from yard to platform number two. A man was found under the train. When the train departed at 12.25 pm, the GRP officers took the body into custody,” said a vendor.

This shortcut has proved to be dangerous in the past also, the railway officials  reported that 350 people have died while trying to cross the railway tracks in the Pune railway division between January and December 2016.
