Man robbed in broad daylight in Karve Nagar

Pune: In a robbery that took place in broad daylight, a man was robbed of more than Rs five lakh in Karve Nagar on Monday afternoon. A complaint in this regard was registered at Alankar police station.

The complainant, Rakesh Pardeshi (36), who works as a manager in a wine shop on Sinhgad Road, informed the police that he was looted by an unknown person at a spot near Tathawade Park in Karve Nagar.

The unknown accused threw chilli powder in the eyes of motorcycle-borne Pardesi and made away with the cash he was carrying. The incident happened at around 12 noon when Pardeshi left the wine shop with the cash collection of Rs 5,68,000 to hand it over to the owner.

According to Alankar police station, while Pardeshi was passing near Tathawade Park, the unknown accused, who was standing on the side of the road, told him that his motorcycle was punctured. However, when Pardeshi stopped the motorcycle to check it, the accused threw chilli powder in his eyes. He then snatched away the bag of cash from Pardeshi and ran away.

Police said that the victim cried for help but the accused left the spot before anybody could come to his rescue. A case of robbery has been registered against the unknown accused at Alankar police station.
