Man loses Rs 61,000 to online fraudsters

Pune: A 38-year-old man lost Rs 61,000 to online fraudsters who phished his bank details on the pretext of returning his job registration money. 

The incident occurred on July 20 and a case of cheating has been lodged at Chinchwad police station in this regard. As per information given by officials of Chinchwad police, the complainant, Amar Shiram, received a phone call from a person who identified himself as an employee of an online job portal where Amar had registered.

As per information given by officials of Chinchwad police, the complainant, Amar Shiram, received a phone call from a person who identified himself as an employee of an online job portal where Amar had registered. 

The fraudster told Amar that he needs to share his bank details so that the company can return the registration amount of Rs 2,700, which he had paid. As Amar shared his bank details, Rs 61,000 was stolen from his bank account. Police Inspector Vinayak Salunkhe is investigating the case.
