Pune: A 26-year-old man has lodged a cheating case against his wife, her parents and relatives after he found that she was already pregnant.

When he confronted her, she allegedly threatened to file  domestic violence case against him and his parents.

Based on the complaint from the man, the Nigdi police station has booked six persons, including his 20-year-old wife and her parents, from Osmanabad district. He works as a driver and resides in Chinchwad. A neighbour had fixed their match and they got married in February.

“A month later when she didn’t get her periods, a sonography test was done and it was found that she was over 15 weeks pregnant. The test was repeated at another sonography centre, and the same result came. When confronted, she told about her affair with a man from her native place. When I informed her parents, they came to Pune in mid-March. They told me that they will take away the child after delivery. However, I asked them to take her back but they didn’t. Two days later, my wife got the pregnancy terminated with the help of the woman relative who had fixed our match. I was not told about the abortion. A day later, I took her to her mother’s house. On May 15, she came back with her parents and relatives. They asked me to pardon her for the mistake and accept her. When I refused, my wife threatened to file a domestic violence case against me and my family. She also said that I will be implicated in her rape case and domestic violence case that resulted in the miscarriage,” the man stated in his complaint.

He also told cops that his parents had given Rs 30,000 to her parents which they have not returned till now.
