Man duped of Rs. 19K by two men inside ATM in Pune

Pune: Two unknown persons duped a man of Rs 19,000 on the pretext of depositing the money in the ATM. The incident took place inside an ATM in Market Yard area in Pune on Saturday.

The complaintant, Aaidan Gajesingh, 27, a resident of Dhankwadi, informed the police that he had gone to the branch of State Bank of India at Market Yard to deposit money in his relative’s account. He could not do that at the bank and so he visited an ATM to deposit the money where he was duped by two men.

The complaintant, Aaidan Gajesingh, 27, a resident of Dhankwadi, informed the police that he had gone to the branch of State Bank of India at Market Yard to deposit money in his relative’s account. He could not do that at the bank and so he visited an ATM to deposit the money where he was duped by two men.

According to the information provided by Swargate police, while Gajesingh was entering the ATM, a middle-aged man approached him and offered to help him. 

The unknown suspect told the victim to hold his Rs 2.5 lakh while he deposits the money of the victim in the machine. The accused also handed a packet to the victim and asked him to hold it.

According to police, another accomplice of the accused was already there inside the ATM, who distracted the victim by conversing with him. As the victim got engaged in a conversation, the suspect who had offered help, made away with Rs 19,000 using sleight of hand.

The complaintant, informed the police that he had gone to the branch of SBI at Market Yard to deposit money in his relative’s account. He could not do that at the bank and so he visited an ATM to deposit the money where he was duped by two men.
