Man commits suicide in Sahakar Nagar

Shaikh was dejected as his wife left him eight days ago after being fed up of his drinking habit. He was living alone and was in depression.

Pune: A 45 year-old man committed suicide by hanging himself from the ceiling of his house at Sahakar Nagar on Friday night.

The deceased man was identified as Inayat Shaikh , 45, who used to work as a mechanic at a local garage. His body was found hanging from the ceiling of his home by his neighbours who then reported the matter to the police.

Shaikh was dejected as his wife left him eight days ago after being fed up of his drinking habit. From last eight days, he was living alone and was in depression.

Anil Shewale, Police Inspector, Sahakar Nagar police station, said, “Shaikh was an alcoholic and his wife left him because of the daily nuisance created by him under the influence of  alcohol. On Friday night, he ended his life by hanging himself.”
