A 25-year-old man has been booked by the Chatuhshrungi police for allegedly sexually harassing a woman police constable.

PUNE: A 25-year-old man has been booked by the Chatuhshrungi police for allegedly sexually harassing a woman police constable.

The accused has been identified as Balu Uttam Bhor, a resident of Lingdev in Ahmednagar district. A 24-year-old constable from Pune rural police has lodged the complaint against him.

According to police, they first met in 2013. He started forcing her to be friends and used to send her messages. He also proposed to marry her but she refused. After this, he started stalking her and used to follow her wherever she went. Earlier this month, when she was standing at a bus stop near the rural police headquarters on Pashan road, the accused molested her.

Police have charged the accused with offences under the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
