Man arrested for filming nude, sex videos, raping and blackmailing woman in Pune

Pune: A 29-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly filming nude videos of a woman, raping her, again recording its video and then taking Rs 15 lakh from her.

Earlier, the woman’s estranged husband and this man had installed cameras in her house to record her videos, the police said.

The arrested accused was identified as Ajay Ramnaresh Tripathi, a native of Uttar Pradesh. After a massive search operation, he was detained by a team of Warje Malwadi police station in Tundala in Firozabad district of Uttar Pradesh on July 24.

“On Thursday he was produced before a magistrate court which remanded him in police custody till August 2. Further investigations are going on,” said Senior Police Inspector Bajirao Mole, in-charge of Warje-Malwadi police station.

According to the FIR, the woman’s husband and Tripathi had fixed cameras and snapped her nude photographs. Tripathi also recorded the video of the couple having sex. Later Tripathi threatened to upload the photos and videos on Internet and blackmailed the complainant and extracted Rs 15.8 lakh from her from time to time.

He also threatened to throw acid on her face and kept physical relations by blackmailing her. The arrested accused had also recorded video of him having sex with the complainant. He also got a stamp paper notarised stating that Tripathi and the complainant are married. The accused had taken her to a lodge in Agra and raped her there.

The woman told the police that Tripathi is a friend of her husband against whom she had lodged a case of harassment. “The accused has also threatened to harm my sister who lives in Uttar Pradesh and is asking for Rs 25 lakh more,” the woman told the police.

The accused persons have been charged with offences under sections 376 (2) (n) (commits rape repeatedly on the same woman), 307 (attempt to murder), 354 (outraging modesty of woman), 384 (extortion), 386 (extortion by putting a person in fear of death or grievous hurt), 387 (putting person in fear of death or of grievous hurt, in order to commit extortion), 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 504 (intentional insult), 506 (criminal intimidation) and 34 (common intention) of the Indian Penal Code and relevant sections of the Information Technology (IT) Act.
