Man arrested for assaulting PMPML bus driver

“Kore was driving the bus between Makan Hospital PMPML bus stop and Vasantdada statue PMPML bus stop at Old Sangvi when the incident took place,” they said. 

PUNE: A 50-year-old driver of the Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Ltd (PMPML) was assaulted by a passenger on September 18. The driver, identified as Govind Kore, has lodged a complaint at Sangvi poilce station.  

According to the police, Kore was assaulted by Manoj Digambar Kasar (29), a resident of Old Sangvi.

“Kore was driving the bus between Makan Hospital PMPML bus stop and Vasantdada statue PMPML bus stop at Old Sangvi when the incident took place,” they said. 

The police said Kore did not stop the bus, where Kasar asked him to. “When Kore did not stop the bus as demanded, Kasar got angry and started abusing him. He hit him and threatened him,” the police said. 

“Kasar has been arrested and a case has been registered against him under sections 353, 323, 504 and 506 of the Indian Penal Code,” the police said.
