A man and three of his family members have been booked by the Nigdi police on Thursday for abetting his wife to commit suicide.

Pune: A man and three of his family members have been booked by the Nigdi police on Thursday for abetting his wife to commit suicide.

The accused person has been identified as Pradip Ahire, a resident of Sonawane Vasti in Chikhli. Ahire and three of his family members have been accused of torturing the deceased Deepali Ahire which forced her to end her life.

The deceased ended her life by hanging herself at her home on Thursday. According to the police, the accused and his family used to suspect the character of the deceased. They used to torture her physically and mentally since the time she got married in 2006. She ended her life because of her character assassination and regular harassment meted out to her. Police have registered a case  of abetment of suiagainst the accused, who are still at large.
